Ref 015

A seventy page book published by The One Time Press in 2007. Royal Octavo format, printed in Bembo 12pt on Somerset laid white paper. This definitive and final collection is in an edition of seventy copies with binding designed by the author and made at the Fine Book Bindery.

As a hardback edition of seventy copies this book is intended for wider distribution at a modest price (presently £12 - 50 or €20 a copy). It contains many revisions of earlier work and some surprisingly creative and exciting results in shaping much juvenilia into more acceptable and meaningful language. It also presents several new and uncollected poems.

Comments that have been made on poems in this Collection

"Disturbing beauty" J. Richard Ross. August 1941

"really have merit ... imagination and a gift for words" Edward Sackville-West. 1943

"I think I could pick out your voice from the crowd for you have an individual accent. More often I think in terms of scent ... you have refreshing cleanness ... with its faint nostalgia and, when the wind is blowing in the right direction, a deep unfathomable perfume ... All your work I find moving with its chaste, disciplined sadness." Roy McFadden, poet. 1943

"Commonplace and conventional" A. T. Tolley. 1985

"All of your poems are most delicate and musical ... I wish you had not fallen silent for so much of your later life... " Michael Hamburger. 2006
