These books published in various forms over a number of years bring together most of the poetry written between 1940 and 1963. They contain poetry that has now been revised and newly collected (see Ref 015). They are bound from sheets produced by offset from original prints of the work and contain illustrations incorporated into the text which was made in the 1960s after the last poems in the collection were written.
Originally
these sheets were folded and bound uncut using acid free boards
and Japanese paper in various bindings between 1965 and 1990,
which the author made and circulated under the imprint De Mortuo
Mari Offsets, later the Badelesmere Press. Some of these books
are still available. (See Other Editions.)
The edition, produced in 1997 and later by The One Time Press, uses
the same uncut printed text, of which there are still many sheets.
The paper, Spicer's Plus Fabric White 110gsm, has survived forty
years with no visible sign of change.
The list
below gives individual features of these books. Very few, if any,
can be said exactly to replicate the others.
